Neal Stephenson

Neal Stephenson is a science fiction writer, who has a great sense of humor. Some of his more recent pieces are set in todays world (e.g. cryptonomicon) or are not even considered fiction at all (In the Beginning ...).
A great read for anyone who is interested in computers and SciFi.
 

Douglas N. Adams

Probaly one of the funniest styles of writing ever. He became famouse for his Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy (HHGttG), but has published some other fictional novels. The best he has written IMHO is “The Last Chance to See”, where he describes his experiences while traveling the world to visit endangered animals.
 

Terry Pratchett

TP has been writing novels on the fantasy world “Discworld” for a number years. There are currently 24 of them available for sale and I am trying my best to get thru all of them as soon as possible. So far I am up to about 12 of them (but I only started this year). So there are good chances I will catch up with his output.
